About

I grew up on my family farm in rural Cambridgeshire, but my love of cartoons and icy winds brought me north to study animation. At Edinburgh College of Art I specialised in 2D animation and children’s storytelling, graduating with a first class BA (Hons) in 2012. My degree film Hannah and the Moon screened at over 40 international film festivals including Berlinale, Toronto and Edinburgh. In 2018 I returned to study, graduating with a masters with distinction in Motion Graphics from Edinburgh Napier University in 2019.

Right now, I have been working as a freelance animator since 2013 and have a cosy studio in Edinburgh. I produce a combination of promotional work, short documentary, explainer videos and short films with a mixture of traditional and digital 2D animation techniques and have recently been turning my hand to a little Cinema 4D. Whatever the brief, heartfelt, character driven stories, laced with humour are always at the centre of my work.

Outside the studio I run film and animation workshops with a variety of groups; in particular, young people with additional needs. Animation is a great creative outlet for so many people and sharing my passion for it is incredibly rewarding. Plus it's a good reminder that animators shouldn't always sit in dark rooms!

I am always on the look out for new projects so please get in touch if you would like more information about my work.
